Italia!!

My family (except Slug Bro and his fiancee) went to Italy over Thanksgiving - and it was a SUPER fun trip! Mom and Grandma had a great time, it was really nice to see AuntJ, The Rockette and Coconut Cake – and Tricky (my super fantastic boyfriend) even joined the group over there! (I must say there is nothing like having your boyfriend meet the family in a foreign country!)

We all ate way too much fantastic food (pizza will never be the same!!) but pretty much walked it all off while we were in Rome... We even made it to Florence one day, where Tricky and I had our best meal of the trip at Trattoria Mario – or was it the half liter of wine with lunch that made us think it was so fantastic? ;)

Here's a pic of Tricky and I at Trevi Fountain - and yes, we threw a coin in to ensure a safe return to Rome!

We spent two days at the Vatican, one to see the Pope (of course) - we were in an audience he speaks to weekly thanks to Grandma's prior planning. Then we went back another day to go through the Vatican museums, which I have to say were very impressive! Of course we went shopping – Rockette has a new jacket and a few new sweaters, I acquired multiple pairs of Italian leather boots – OK, I stopped myself at two pair. :) And let me tell you - my 84 year-old grandmother walked all over the place with us and loved it, she is a TROOPER!

As nice as Italy was, I am very happy to be back in CO! We got back Saturday so of course we woke up early and went skiing Sunday – no jet lag for us! Up in the mountains, it was a winter wonderland, we even got snowed in up there! All the roads out of Summit were closed, so we all spent the night in the condo, which worked out fine. We were able to drive back to Denver early Monday morning.

Snow is on the ground down here in the lowlands of Denver, too - at least until tomorrow when it will get up to 60 degrees :) Gotta love the weather swings!!

Hope everyone is doing well. 22 days until Christmas!
