L I V E STRONG

Ride for the Roses in Austin, TX was this weekend. Many, MANY thanks for those of you who supported the cause, in whichever way your support came!

Reasons I loved the ride:
* Got to catch up with Snizow, CowDaddy, Sarfi and Cap'n E
* gained a NEW APPRECIATION for my health and the condition of my body
* THE REVEREND was with me all weekend!
* saw The Rockette and her girlfriend... and their kids...
* ate tons of junk food and didn't care because I ran and biked all weekend long
* got to hang out with The Zombie Ninja Pirate on his birthday
* I always feel closer to my dad when I'm on my bike... which is another blog entry altogether... but the times I am on my bike are the times I miss my dad the most (in a good way!)

The hills were killer. Lance picked the course himself and told us all "good luck with it." He was NOT kidding. But I did it, finished the 45 miles... of hills... and like Snizow says, I was BEAMING when I said "35 more miles than I've ridden all summer!" We really did have a great time, and believe it or not most of our catching up was done while on the ride!

The Rev had a good time, got to see her bud The President. BTW The President (of LAF) is a GREAT GUY and one of the reasons I want to be more involved. He knows his stuff, he's a good guy and he's running a good show. I'm on board.

SO. More on Livestrong. This was just the beginning for me. I raised a little money and now I want to raise more. I NEVER EVER WANT TO BE PART OF THE CANCER CLUB. I want to do everything I can to stop the disease, find ways of curing it, ways of lessening what people like The Rev and Snizow's sister have to go through when they have it.

I have a goal next year to get a team together to raise $10,000. I personally would love to be able to raise that, we will see what I can do. But if anyone would like to join Moxie's Team 10K for next year, please let me know. And I'll take any fundraising ideas you have!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU again for supporting the cause. It's a big one.
